Walt Disney Disneyland Mickey Mouse Club HQ Set Lobby Card 1961 Babes in Toyland
Walt Disney Disneyland Mickey Mouse Club HQ Set Lobby Card 1961 Babes in Toyland
Historic Disneyland Memorabilia from Saturday's Toys presents...
a vintage lobby card from Walt Disney's "Babes in Toyland" (1961).
Features the film's co-star, Tommy Sands, only moments after his character, "Tom Piper" is revealed when portraying "Floretta the Gypsy" in an elaborate song and dance number.
Lobby Card is in vibrant color, 11" x 14", and features several of the set pieces that were transported to Disneyland upon the completion of the film.
Once received at Disneyland, the set was re-installed at the Town Square Opera House where it would serve as the Official Mickey Mouse Club Headquarters (1961 - 1964).
Having originally served as Disneyland's lumber mill during construction of the park, in the months that followed, the Opera House would also serve as the world headquarters for "The Mickey Mouse Club" until "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" was finally installed inside the theater (1965).
The film also starred Annette Funicello ("The Mickey Mouse Club") and Ray Bolger ("The Wizard of Oz").
A rare combination is pictured; both for the film... and also picturing a slice of Disneyland history.

    Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles
was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 15,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.
Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers):
"Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
