Vtg Emile Galle French Cameo Etched Glass Signed Covered Powder Jar Trinket Box

Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful vintage covered powder jar, or trinket box, signed Galle. It's very well made, hand-carved and etched in a floral design with amber-colored leaves and stems over translucent white, which actually looks pale pink in some spots. The design has intricate details, soft edges and subtle textures with the Galle signature incorporated into it.
The body of the jar is well-formed glass, not overly thick or heavy with a well-fitting domed lid. The edges of the jar and lid are softened with slight bevels. (See photo 6 for jar’s interior and edge, as well as photo 10 for inside of lid.) The jar’s bottom is honed and polished (photo 7). There's a small taped sticker on the bottom which says "4/29/86 Gallie 0". Obviously Galle’s name is misspelled.
In great vintage condition. There are some scuff marks on the bottom and lid's edge; also a few white spots on the lid (see photos). I didn't try to clean it, but I'm sure an expert cleaning would do the trick.
Measurements: Appx 3.5" high including the lid, and 4" wide.
