This is a gorgeous, vintage 7-piece Madonna Original Creations newborn baby's Christening gown with matching overcoat, slip, bonnet, booties with attached socks (Mrs. Day's baby ideal shoes, size 1), lace-trimmed rubber pants, a blanket (Homestead Wrappie). There are 2 vintage safety pins and a religious medal attached to the blanket.
Shoes, rubber pants, and blanket appear to be more vintage than the gown. They have yellowing from age. There are yellow stains on the slip, gown and overcoat from formula and other stains you might expect a baby to make. I don’t know if these will come out with a bleaching or Oxy cleaning. Otherwise, no rips or damage to the cloth.
This comes with the original hanger, plus an extra one. The embroidery is very sweet, and the lace design is gorgeous! Two-snap closure on dress, ribbon tie on overcoat.
I expect the size is newborn – 3 month, but it isn’t marked.
Measurements :
Neck is about 6".
Shoulders are 8" from seam to seam.
Sleeves are 7" around arm
Approx. 10" from arm pit to arm pit.
Length is approx. 14" from shoulder to hem.
