Description
Here is a beautiful Humpback Whale Sculpture by John Perry for your consideration. This 1970's era sculpture features two Humpback Whales suspended over Burl wood. Each John Perry sculpture is unique. Not sure which compound of resin he used on this one, could be Balanite which looks beigeish white. Please look at the pictures. Most Perry sculptures are mounted on Manzanita Burl wood, which is the root burl of the Manzanita bush. There is a metal oval attached to the burl with the artist name John Perry.. The materials are Ebonite, Balanite or Pellucida, durable compounds developed by the artist." John Perry developed Pellucida - a compound of resins that can be presented in a variety of forms, the frosted white version resembling bisque porcelain, the beige version, Balanite, looks beigeish/white, and the black version, Ebonite, like polished ebony. Some of the pieces are air-brushed for a realistic look. This lovely sculpture will be an outstanding addition to many decors. No
