Vintage Disneyland Postcard Set 1957-1967 Monsanto House Of The Future & Upjohn
This Set Of Three Vintage Disneyland Postcards Is All Original, And Dates From Between 1957 And 1967. They Are All Outside Vendor Postcards, Sold By Independent Companies Who Sponsored Attractions Or Leased Retail Space At Disneyland, Which Was A Practice Used In The Park's Early Years To Help Pay For New Attractions And Supplement The Park's Income. While Some Disneyland Attractions (such as the Autopia) Still Have Sponsors Today, Disney Owned Souvenir Shops Have Long Since Replaced The Independent Retailers That Once Filled The Shops Of Main Street, Frontier, And Adventure Lands, Making These Old Souvenirs A Fantastic Remnant Of A Truly Bygone Era.
Included Are One Night Time Postcard Of Monsanto's Famous House Of The Future, With Sleeping Beauty's Castle Beautifully Lit For The Night In The Background And The House Lit Up In The Foreground With It's Multi-level Fountain And Patio Out Front, And Two Postcards From The Main Street Upjohn Pharmacy's Prescription Counter And Pot Bellied Stove. The Upjohn Pharmacy Company Ran Their Main Street Store As Something Of A Living Museum, Giving Out Vitamin Samples And Showcasing A Fully Decked Out Display Of A Turn Of The Century Antique Pharmacy Storefront.
Cards Are New And Unusued, But Show Some Very Minor Corner Wear From Age And Storage. Overall They Are In EXCELLENT Condition!
