This listing is for an 1890s Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon from Cleveland, Ohio. On the handle is featured a picture of the "PERRY MONUMENT IN WADE PARK" and the seal for the "STATE OF OHIO U.S.A." as well as the city name "CLEVELAND". In the bowl is a picture of the "GARFIELD MEMORIAL" in "CLEVELAND, OHIO".
The Perry Monument was moved to Wade Park in 1894 and moved again in 1913. The Garfield Memorial is dedicated to assassinated President James A. Garfield and is located in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland. It was dedicated in 1890. Garfield and his wife are both buried in the memorial.
This 120+ year old spoon measures 5 7/8" in length. The back of the spoon is marked "STERLING". This is in very good estate condition.
