These were originally given to druggists and pharmacies by Parke Davis to advertise their products. It was one last attempt to keep show globes a symbol for American pharmacy.
These promotional items are becoming increasingly rare to find.
Condition Description:
This Originally included a night light bulb on a wire to make it light up a beautiful green color -- the electrical part (cord and light socket) are missing. This is only for the plastic display as pictured. It is made out of two pieces that were glued together. It is starting to separate at the bottom -- I have not attempted to reinforce the glue in any way. Someone etched "OK" into gold colored collar across the top as seen in the close up picture.
