I was looking for an alternative to my stovetop cast iron comal/griddle for cooking or heating tortillas. I bought this MegaChef griddle. It is exactly what I was looking for. It heats quickly, and cooks or toasts tortillas perfectly. I wish the dial had numbers, but I have found the 7 o’clock position to be the sweet spot for perfect toasting. I have not burned a tortilla since I got this. It also cools off quickly after being unplugged. My sister loved it so much I got her one, too. The nonstick surface and very low edge make it easy to slide tortillas off of the edge. It does get a little warm underneath, so I do have a recycled microwave platter underneath since my counters are old style laminate. This would not be needed on granite or Corian. I am glad I have more space on my stove since all the tortilla cooking can be in a different area. I do recommend it. Several of my friends have already asked where they could get one.
I usually don't like to write reviews but will for this, the pancakes are very well cooked, the crepes are easy to make, if you are on keto, you can use it easily to make your almond flour pancakes which otherwise is usually difficult.Above everything else, it's a beautiful addition to my kitchen.It's worth your $.My teen & twin can use it without difficult.
I just made the most delicious manicotti shells on my new Megachef crepe maker. The non-stick surface worked great. The only thing that I would change is the temperature control knob should have numbers on it so that you can know how hot the plate really is. Overall a great value for the price.
