Description
Spoon has "G.H.S." in a pennant engraved in the bowl. The spoon is manufactured with academic items on the handle, and customized with engraving. the handle has an owl, globe, books, etc. "1914" in engraved on a ribbon in the center of the handle.Single die, the back is plain.
Weight 18.44 grams, length about 5 1/2"
The spoon has a little tarnish, I have not cleaned it. This spoon has a small amount of scuffing from careless storage.

Maker: Rogers, Lunt &Bowlen Co, 1901- 1935 when they changed their name to Lunt Silversmiths. Thesymbol is 3 squares set corner to corner making a triangle in the center. Thesquares have “R L B” inside. Note: this spoon does not have a complete mark, it looks like the impression was made at an angle.
Souvenir spoons were introduced in America in 1891 and remained popular through 1915. They had a short revival in the 1920's. Most silver souvenir spoons are over 100 years old. Unless dated, I do not know the exact age of the spoons I am selling.
