    Description

Disneyland 1959 City Hall PHOTO John F Kennedy Guinea Pres Ahmed Sékou Touré
Disneyland 1959 City Hall PHOTO John F Kennedy Guinea Pres Ahmed Sékou Touré
Historic Disneyland Auctions by Saturday's Toys presents...
a vintage photograph of Senator John F. Kennedy meeting with the President of Guinea, Ahmed Sékou Touré in October 1959.
This photograph was printed on Kodak paper in the 1970's; with watermark indicating "This Paper Made by Kodak" (with no underline or overline indicated; limiting production of the print to the 1970's)
The historic visit occurred on a Sunday morning when crowds were light at Disneyland... allowing for the candidate for President to meet with this foreign leader as JFK began the process of forging new relationships with global leaders throughout the world.
8" x 10"; excellent condition; as both leaders exit City Hall for their ride on the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad.  Though Walt Disney was not in the park that day, several other Disneyland managers were on duty... including one wearing his metal Disneyland badge (shown in photo).
In addition, it's not likely that this photo will be published again its original form... in light of the presence of cigarette in the hand of President Touré.
While this photo came from the collection of a former Disneyland employee (1950's - 1980's), no copyright is indicated on the vintage photograph; neither on the front; nor on reverse.

    Saturday’s Toys and Disneyana Auctions
was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and Disney historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first Disneyana specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 10,000 coveted Disney treasures since then, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers, collectors and friends throughout the world with a shared interest in the preservation of authentic and accurate Disney history.
Today, online offerings of archival Disneyana keepsakes are presented in celebration of the extended times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately known as "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a tip of the cap to the Sherman Brothers):
"Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
