Historic Disneyland Auctions by Saturday's Toys presents...
an historic keepsake collectible from Disneyland's earliest years...
Features Postcard A-6... among the second year postcards that were issued... is this classic Horseless Carriage (designed by Disney Legend Bob Gurr) in front of the Disneyland Opera House... with an often overlooked faint image of an original Disneyland attraction poster on display featuring none other than the new Tom Sawyer Island (June 1956)
In these early years of the park's operation, the Opera House still served as the "Mill" for Disneyland construction projects still under way. Originally slated to become a movie museum... and later home to the Babes in Toyland exhibit... and the world headquarters of the Mickey Mouse Club.... the space eventually was developed to present "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" and "The Walt Disney Story."
Card is unused; nicely preserved for nearly seven decades. A rare first-generation souvenir from Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

Saturday’s Toys and Disneyana Auctions
was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and Disney historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first Disneyana specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 10,000 coveted Disney treasures since then, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers, collectors and friends throughout the world with a shared interest in the preservation of authentic and accurate Disney history.
Today, online offerings of archival Disneyana keepsakes are presented in celebration of the extended times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately known as "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a tip of the cap to the Sherman Brothers):
"Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
We are glad to combine shipping to reduce costs whenever possible. Simply let us know before processing payment for the items selected and we'll revise and forward a final invoice to reflect the combined shipping price.
This usually works most effectively when combining flat paper items (postcards, newsletters, ephemera, etc.) but we'll do our best to make any combined purchase provide the best value for shipping.
