Presented here is a beautiful original antique baby Christening gown. This is handmade of fine cotton with a natural weave. The bodice front is embellished with an attached "vest" which is
embroidered with florals and petite open-work, it has a lace edge, micro pin tucks adorn the center. It has a 3/8" wide stand up lace around the neck.The back of the bodice has vertical pin tucks.
The gown opens in the back, closes with four mother-of-pearl buttons. The sleeves are long and full, they have gathers on the shoulders, the cuffs are edged with lace and fancy stitching. The skirt is simple, long and sweeping with an A-line cut and fullness coming from the pleats. Excellent antique condition, clean, sturdy, no stains, no tears, there are some small minor flaws and repairs but nothing noticeable. Very finely hand-made and finished in Victorian fashion, narrow French seams.  Exquisite!
